Make Do Mend Creative workshops
Want to get creative?
I offer a series of creative workshops throughout the year which provide a friendly environment in which to release your inner creative soul & feel the thrill of making something for yourself.
In each 2.5 hour session I take you step by step through the project and provide everything you need on the day from course materials and tuition to inspiration and home-made cake!
The Make series requires some basic sewing or crochet knowledge prior to taking the class - if you are a beginner or need a refresher on the techniques then you will need to attend one of the Do series workshops first (see below for more info)
Make
...in this series I supply all necessary materials for you to complete a project during the workshop
Head Rush - a real chilly weather favourite, we crochet a kitten-soft head band / ear warmer, using a decorative yet simple stitch, that will become a welcome addition to your winter wardrobe. Crochet knowledge required
Glamorous Granny - the ubiquitous Granny Square gets a Get Smitten makeover! Using a sophisticated colour palette we create several squares that can be made into a cushion cover or simple tote bag. Basic crochet knowledge required
Brit Brit Hooray! - the Union Jack cushion has become a staple of interior fashion over the past few years, regardless of your patriotic origins. We will combine a mix of sexy fabrics to make this modern classic. Sewing knowledge required (possibly a sewing machine). Will be split over 2 sessions
Mini Pin Cushion Jewellery - holding pins in your mouth while sewing is never a good idea (believe me!) This cute mini pin cushion, made with retro reclaimed fabric sits on an elastic bracelet to be worn on the wrist or as a ring. Basic crochet knowledge required
Flower Corsage - with tweed yarn and a few extra 'bits' we will make a brooch backed corsage that will Smitten-up your jacket, handbag or a cushion. They also look fab insteada of a bow on a gift. Crochet knowledge required
Nipple Tassles - this is a fun class to let your imagination run wild! Very basic sewing involved along with plenty of glue, sequins, feathers and giggles. A great one for a girls night in or hen party!
Small Talk Cushion - just bring a short quote, phrase or favourite word and we will transfer it onto a silk cushion and embellish with simple sewing techniques
Charmed - a super easy charm bracelet you can wear with pretty much everything. This is a great 'first time' workshop as no skills are required - as long as you have eyes and hands you'll be fine!
Tracks of My Tears - using thick recycled Mongolian felt and reclaimed vintage pearls we make a stylish textile ring
Do
...this series of workshops is about learning a new skill or brushing up on techniques if it's been a while!

Mend
...in this series we look at mending and giving new life to your garments and accessories
Up-cycle Your Unloved Jewellery - bring along any bits of jewellery that has been lurking unloved in your drawers or earrings that have lost their mate or even items that 'just don't quite work' the way they are.
